In the project, sonolysis technology for the purification of PFAS-contaminated groundwater in situ will be tested in the field under Swedish conditions.
The study is carried out in collaboration between researchers at Luleå University of Technology and Clarkson University in the USA, entrepreneur and problem owner.
The project begins with the construction of a sonolysis reactor to be able to carry out laboratory tests on groundwater from a PFAS-contaminated area. Afterwards, the technology will also be tested in the field in a PFAS-contaminated area. The project is planned to last for three years between 2022 and 2025.
