CoRE (Conditional Rules Engine) will create an innovative, novel way for users to define rules and more reliably enter large datasets into a database through use of our intuitive UI.
Data entry is an error prone and time consuming process that is involved in almost every element of the digital world. Most software solutions are bespoke and inflexible, demanding high costs presenting a large barrier to entry. There is no off-the-shelf solution that allows for data entry to be simplified and validated against a designed set of "rules", reducing user mistakes.
Additionally, these rules can be set to prevent issues resulting from exceeding constraints, limitations of files, or databases used (such as what happened in regards to the COVID-19 track and trace database), as well as addressing societal needs concerning safer management of public and customer data. CoRE would directly address such limitations as well as reduce time, effort, and cost of entering large amounts of data.
CoRE uses a full stack system where the user is able to build a set of rules that define sets of allowed values and how those values relate to each other. These rulesets can then be used to generate a user interface that can, based on the user's selection display (i.e. the conditions) display the other possible values. As the user gives the system more information, the sets of allowed values are slowly reduced until there is only one set left.
This system not only ensures the correct values are entered but also saves the user time entering every field where the system will be capable of automating laborious data entry for them.
