Local Energy Marketplace Seeding (LEMS)

The Local Energy Market Seeding project will explore and develop a marketplace software solution on top of NOCO's existing digital twin. The marketplace will look to bring in different stakeholders from across the built environment and energy system into a coordinated local decarbonisation initiative.

The project will draw on NOCO's existing big data infrastructure and expertise to automate the creation of optimised local area decarbonisation plans and also act as a platform for service providers to assess, design and propose various CleanTech solutions (solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, energy efficiency, etc) that can fit into the wider net zero pathway of a local area.

The ultimate aim of the project is to streamline the design, development and launch of a local energy marketplace that will allow local generation to trade with local demand, bypassing the wider transmission and distribution networks, allowing up to 50% gains on both sides of the deal, creating a win-win-win end state.
