Microgrid Foundry bid

Microgrids are privately owned physical electricity networks that link multiple properties and optimise solar and battery storage for the benefit of local energy customers.

The core benefit for new-build housing is that community microgrids facilitate additional infrastructure investment in key Net Zero technology appropriate to new housing; including solar panels, energy storage and electric heat pumps.

Our core proposal involves establishing local community energy services companies (ESCos) to own community microgrids, using the additional value captured to repay the upfront capital investment over 30-years without increasing the "sticker price" of the housing for customers.
