Future Leaders for Advanced Air Mobility Excellence (FLAME)

Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) will be the future mode of transport in urban areas.

Small aerial vehicles will soon be moving people, products and services around our towns and cities, bringing with it a host of benefits to society.

This seamless transport mode will relieve congestion on our roads and railways, reduce journey times, improve air quality and deliver economic benefits.

The University of West London has partnered with industry experts, Martek Drones and Safeguard to develop a unique and exciting Masters course for the future leaders of the AAM sector.

The course will narrow the skills gap, and in the process, unlock technical and social barriers and accelerate the growth of this important transport sector.

The course is a blend of theoretical and practical knowledge, delivered in a hybrid mode that will appeal to recent graduate and industry professionals alike.

The course delivers a whole-systems perspective of AAM from vehicle design & technology and airspace & ground infrastructure, to policy & regulations and commercial exploitation.

Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate practical competence in flying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and obtain a CAA Drone Operator ID. Student knowledge and understanding will be enhanced through field visits to vertiports and heliports.

Graduates of the programme will become the drivers of change and lead the development of this new and exciting transport sector.
