Overhead Line Electrification Project Development

A product designed to carry railway isolation equipment which is specific to the electrification sector.

Consisting of a mild steel frame and inter-changeable metal back plate which is attached to adjustable shoulder straps, sternum strap and waist belt with padding where required for comfort.

The weight of the 25KV isolation equipment can be spread across the users back and shoulders working in very much the same way a backpack would, but leaving the metal framework across the back exposed for loading / unloading allowing staff to transport the equipment around the railway infrastructure in a much safer efficient manner.

Unique design makes the product adaptable for other railway disciplines in which carrying equipment long distances is a common practice.

Product to be used on various railway electrification projects around the UK and for existing electrified lines requiring an overhead line isolation.

Prototype already designed, manufactured and in the process of a UK patent application. Patent search has been returned confirming no product similar anywhere.

Our experience in the railway isolation industry showed us that there is no other way of transporting your portable earths and RoLE Equipment other than throwing the earths over one shoulder and carrying the awkward RoLE lights by hand.

Research has shown that carrying anything over one shoulder for a period of time can cause the shoulder to roll forward and down. This will, in turn, cause the muscles in the upper back and neck to stretch, and can lead to weak muscles. This makes injury a lot more possible and leads to staff being away from work with work related injuries.

Using a PEAR-PAC will evenly distribute the weight of the equipment across your body. The strongest muscles in the body -- the back and abdominal muscles support the pack for a comfortable and safe carry.

The PEAR-PAC comes with a robust carrying handle, making it easy to transport in and out of vehicles and around depots etc. The PEAR-PAC also comes with swivel clips which allow the product to moves and suit different size users.

These swivel clips are also completely detachable meaning should one of the straps on your PEAR-PAC become damaged you can easily replace this without having to replace the full product.
