Thistle Rocketry Ltd is developing a cutting edge propellant pump for space propulsion, called the Fluid Driven Pump (FDP). This project will remove barriers to commercialisation of this new technology by supporting the development and implementation of a commercialisation plan.
In it's intended use case, the FDP will be employed in the space industry as an enabling technology for a launch service which is designed to make space infrastructure more sustainable, and help reshape the throwaway culture that is still prevalent in the construction of space infrastructure.
The technology has other use cases in satellite and orbital transfer vehicle propulsion, where the pump offers improved performance of thrusters and increased vehicle agility. The commercialisation plan proposed will see the development of early revenues from these secondary markets, which will in turn fund the further development of the technology, accelerating its route to market.
