Grant Description

This project is to create an advanced AI system that can protect the space operated by electrical distribution units. Tagntell is developing a new technology called Attent.

The Attent technology is a wirefree self-supporting AI-powered predictive maintenance IoT edge device targeted to revolutionise electrical power distribution systems. Attent is meticulously designed to predict electrical failures before they happen, significantly reducing the risks of electrical fires, thus saving lives, preserving finances, business operations and reducing carbon emissions.

Studies show that by averting these types of electrical fires, each incident prevented could potentially reduce carbon emissions by approximately 1,360 kilograms, aligning with global green initiatives and bringing into line currently uncontrolled carbon emissions to being accommodated within net zero targets. Other fire-based emissions and pollutants are also significantly reduced.

Additionally, having a focused approach to maintaining telecoms distribution systems has a large potential to reduce secondary transportation emissions (and costs) due to now being able to provide a much more efficient and focused approach to maintenance.

Beyond environmental benefits, Attent aims to deliver unparalleled safety measures and financial savings by minimising unforeseen operational disruptions. The responsible person in charge of the electrical distribution system is alerted, pre-failure or post-failure but ahead of major fire concerns, the device also detects short circuits or earth leakage faults which if unattended could lead to the electrocution of people and livestock.

By circumventing the more severe fire risk action, Attent enables operators of power distribution systems to resolve concerns before they become concerns. Reductions in travel costs and positive commercial impacts to reducing system downtimes and failures are also improvements for UK GDP and society as a whole. Approximately 25% of commercial fires usually start from electrical systems with 50% of businesses suffering fires subsequently failing.

Tagntell is targeting partnering with distinguished and recognised industry and academic affiliates for the delivery of this project, to further refine and propel Attent towards widespread deployment. With all partner organisation's expertise and industry skills merged together, the delivery of this innovative solution can significantly elevate the technology towards a demonstrated ability to bring safety improvements, financial stability and eco-responsibility to electrical infrastructures across a wide range of sectors.

This means that TagnTell could be instrumental in pioneering a safer, financially sound, and environmentally friendly electrical infrastructure for both the UK and wider markets.
