Grant Description

Our studio will develop a smartphone-based workflow to easily create detailed 3D maps of buildings and spaces. By simplifying advanced mapping technology, anyone can use just a phone camera to model environments for applications like real estate, advertising and other sectors. We'll conduct hands-on workshops with regional partners, disadvantaged groups, and artists in the South, teaching the workflow to over 60 participants.

There is incredible demand for interactive 3D content across sectors like real estate, tourism, and construction. Our workflow unlocks this opportunity without expensive equipment or technical expertise. Trainees become part of a rising creative talent pipeline to produce next-generation experiences.

The project makes cutting-edge photogrammetry accessible to non-experts, while positioning the UK at the forefront of innovation democratization. It creates inclusive pathways to digital careers by equipping people with highly marketable technology skills. Adoption drives the fast-growing digital twin industry while fuelling creative sector growth.

By empowering communities to map spaces using ubiquitous devices, this project transforms smartphone cameras into powerful 3D capture rigs. It epitomizes leveraging innovation to spread economic prospects and technology capacity. Our studio helps spearhead this mapping revolution while readying regional workforces for jobs of the future.
