XR AI & Architectural BIM and their Application to Historic Buildings

Restoring or reconstructing a building or heritage structure to its original state rarely happens because of the prohibitive costs involved. Even if we assume in the limited number of cases where the finance can be raised for restoration, it is often contentious because people are attached to the romantic idea of ruins.

This project aims to solve these twin problems by virtually re-creating buildings that have disappeared, or those beyond economic repair, utilising 3D architectural software and outputting a full sized, fully rendered model to an AR or VR app. with which the audience can, in real-time, walk around a full sized virtual building.
