This project will complete the development and commercialisation of a novel microfluidic technology and prototype instrument reader for faster antimicrobial susceptibility (resistance) testing.
Initially designed for microbiology laboratories serving human clinical medicine providers, this project specifically targets clinical laboratories serving veterinary clinical medicine providers (both public and private), pharmaceutical and biotech companies developing new therapies and public and academic research laboratories involved in surveillance of antimicrobial resistance.
Our novel platform technology modernises traditional microbiological methods by providing a rapid, affordable, accurate, high throughput platform significantly reducing time to result, is less labour intensive which ultimately will allow the right antimicrobial treatment to be prescribed to the right patient.
Our product has been developed with significant input from target customers and experts and addresses an area of significant unmet need.
