Chronic Pain Care (CPC) is dedicated to developing an innovative health coaching solution to address the urgent need for accessible, personalised, and sustainable treatment for the 3.4 million Fibromyalgia patients in the UK. Current solutions are often hindered by high costs, long wait times, and a lack of personalised care, creating a significant demand for more effective treatment options.
Chronic Pain Care's health coaching innovation offers patients:
1. Tailored treatment plans based on each patient's unique needs and progress. This personalised approach ensures that patients receive the most effective care.
2. Cost-effectiveness: CPC aims to offer treatment at a fraction of the cost of current options, making it an affordable choice for all patients.
3. Accessibility: The digital platform is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all patients, regardless of their ability, language, location, or socioeconomic status. This ensures that everyone can receive the care they need without barriers. Chronic Pain Care's health coaching innovation offers health coaches:
1. A seamless way to coach patients, without needing to memorise Electronic Health Records (EMRs) or the latest advancements in behavioural science. 2. Smart suggestions to help them coach 12.5X more clients per hour. 3. The flexibility to coach clients remotely and in a way that's personal to their style.
Chronic Pain Care's health coaching innovation offers healthcare providers:
1. Scalability to meet the high demand for Fibromyalgia treatment, ensuring that more patients can receive timely and effective care. 2. A care pathway for chronic pain without the operational burden of managing additional technology or staff.
The project is a collaboration with Wakefield NHS Health and Care Partnership (HCP), combining CPC's expertise in pain management with Wakefield's extensive patient base and research capabilities. The team will conduct user research, test low-fidelity prototypes, and design a digital solution that meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2) and Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards.
This approach aligns with the UK government's 2023 NHS mandate, which prioritises the use of data, technology, and AI in healthcare. If successful, the project could lead to significant improvements in patient outcomes, reduced healthcare costs, and increased productivity for both patients and healthcare providers.
