The UK is an established and leading player in digital health: in 2020, it accounted for approximately 35% of the European market and has attracted the highest investment in Europe. In 2021, this reached a record high of USD3.8billion, exceeded only by the USA \[global leader with USD31.9billion\] and China. In 2023, the UK had the highest number of digital health startups of any European country.

The UK's £5 billion digital health market comprises both private and public sector clients, as well as investors. While the NHS remains the dominant buyer, private-sector spending has increased rapidly over recent years.

At its height, the pandemic challenged the structural barriers which had previously inhibited investment in digital health innovations. The pandemic, and the NHS's response to this, highlighted a number of areas in which digital health solutions could improve service provision. These include artificial intelligence applications which have demonstrated the potential to meet new demands on health resources.

Covid-19 also increased public awareness and interest in digital health technology. Digital health has become a new frontier in the delivery of care.

Against this backdrop, and as part of the government plans to apply data-driven solutions to long-term issues facing the NHS, the Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC) certification standard was introduced. This will ensure the new generation of digital health tools/products are safe, secure, and usable.

Our product innovation is an AI-controlled digital compliance platform which will enable health-tech innovators to bring their products to market faster and at a fraction of the current cost. We will develop a user-friendly, trained AI assistant which will seamlessly guide innovators through the entire DTAC certification process.
