Grant Description

On December 28, 2023, a handover ceremony was held for a batch of chicks hatched and donated by the Chinese Government to the Government of Sao Tome and Principe as part of the Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Technical Assistance Project (Phase 4). The project was intended to promote agricultural development and food security in Sao Tome and Principe.

The ceremony was attended by the interim agent of the Embassy in Sao Tome and Principe, Hu Bin, Sao Tome and Principe Agriculture Minister Jesus, the Sao Tome and Principe Directors of Animal Husbandry and Planning, representatives of local laying hen farmers, and members of the project expert group.
