Grant Description

On December 15, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic donated 1,500 toys, school supplies, and 370 household goods to Supérate, the Dominican government’s social protection agency, in celebration of the Christmas season. The donation aimed to bring joy to low-income children and support families impacted by the November 18th floods.

The toys were distributed to low-income children, adolescents, and members of Supérate’s Girls Clubs during “Hola Navidad,” a holiday-themed event co-organized by Supérate and the Children’s Library of the Dominican Republic (BIJRD).

The 370 household items, consisting of 160 table stoves and 210 mattresses, were distributed to vulnerable families in Santo Domingo Oeste.

Supérate Director General Gloria Reyes expressed gratitude to the Chinese Government for its continued support and humanitarian commitment. The monetary value of the donation is unknown.
