Administrative Core

Project Abstract – Admin Component The overall goal of the Administrative Core is to oversee the infrastructure of the Roybal Center for Elder Mistreatment Intervention Research. Specifically, the Administrative Core has three main activities: (1) providing administrative oversite for the center, (2) coordinating pilot solicitation and review, and (3) conducting

program evaluation and sustainability planning, including planning and execution of an annual retreat. These activities feed into well-defined short- and long-term goals guided by our strategic vision and logic model. Our goals will be achieved under the collaborative leadership of an Executive Committee (EC) comprised of senior

scientists with EM, behavioral intervention, and implementation science expertise across the 5 stages of the NIH model. To ensure meaningful and lasting impact on the field, the Administrative Core will also be guided by an External Advisory Committee (EAC) for strategic decision-making, including funding of pilots and center

activities, and assessment of progress towards goals. We propose three Specific Aims: Aim 1. Provide Leadership and Administrative Oversite. Provide leadership, integration, scientific, and fiscal oversite and accountability for all center activities, services, human subjects, regulatory compliance, and related

interactions. The Core will oversee dissemination of results, ensure integration with our CTSA resources, and coordinate with the External Advisory Committee. Aim 2. Pilot Solicitation and Review. Oversee national competition, including solicitation through final selection, of pilots consistent with the center's theme. The RFA

will solicit proposals from new and new-to-the-field investigators that intend to adapt evidence-based interventions from related fields that targets known risk factors or outcomes for EM through a clearly defined mechanism. Aim 3. Program Evaluation and Sustainability Planning. Collaborate with the BID Core to

monitor the center's progress towards completing planned activities and achieving short- and long-term goals. The Administrative core will coordinate the resolution of any issues with the potential to impact the center's goals and maintain metrics to evaluate the center's performance. We will expand the reach of the center's

activities through strategic collaborations with community, research, non-profit, and government partners to promote the sustainable progression of sponsored pilot projects through the NIH stage model and facilitate site implementation.
