Grant Description

This desk study is reviewing a preliminary concept proposal for a feasibility study that would assess the technical and economic viability of implementing new information and communications technologies (ICT) and e-services across India's rural areas.

Through a private-public partnership with the Ministry of Information Technology, SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited (SREI) has established a large network of ICT Kiosks, or "Sahaj centers" run by village-level entrepreneurs across remote locations in India that provide internet connectivity as well as access to Government-to-Citizen and Business-to-Citizen services.
