Grant Description

This USTDA funding supports a detailed feasilibilty study that focuses on the geothermal plant and systems design, surface facility infrastructure, economic, commercial and financial feasibility, and project implementation plan, taking into account the electricity demand and geothermal resource potential of the Jailolo area.

The first phase of the power plant will install and commission two 20MW units to be accomplished in the first five years of the project implementation.

As electricity demand on Halmahera expands, a second phase would include the installation of an additional two 110 MW units. PT Star Energy Geothermal Halmahera has selected sole source contractor AECOM USA Inc. to perform the study work.
