Grant Description

This grant partially funds a feasibility study to assess the technical, financial and economic viability of a wind power plant of 30 to 50 megawatts along with energy storage of 20 MW (40-80 MWh), as well as associated transmission and interconnection infrastructure near Praia da Rocha in Inhambane Province, Mozambique.

This will be among Mozambique's first utility-scale wind power plants, thus helping to demonstrate the cost and performance of wind energy for the country, as well as help improve access to electricity in Mozambique.
