Grant Description

USTDA supported the African Leaders' Visit: Transportation to serve as an official side event for the U.S.-Africa Leaders' Summit in Washington, DC in August 2014.

The Visit allowed the high-level delegates from Algeria, Ethiopia, South Africa, Angola, Nigeria, and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa to engage in dialogue on the U.S. experience and lessons learned in the aviation and rail sectors.

The Visit introduced the delegates to policymakers, financiers, technical experts, and equipment and services suppliers from the U.S. aviation and rail sectors.

Meetings and site visits showcased Chicago, IL's position as a rail and aviation hub and offered participants a chance to observe advanced transportation infrastructure.
