Technical Assistance - Cold Storage Infrastructure Network, through Government Of Pakistan

This $329,328 grant partially funded a feasibility study to support the establishment of twelve cold storage facilities at strategic locations within five geographical areas throughout Pakistan.

In Pakistan, 20 to 40 percent of perishable products are lost to spoilage before they can be consumed because of inadequate post-harvest handling and lack of refrigeration.

The project will improve the cold chain and the post-harvest system through commercial development of cold storage facilities, while ultimately further strengthening U.S.-Pakistan economic cooperation goals.
