This $924,290 technical assistance (TA) funds a grid modernization assessment for a pilot project in greater Islamabad to serve as the basis for the deployment of Smart Grid technologies.
The TA focuses on evaluating and analyzing a pilot area of the Islamabad Electric Supply Companys (IESCOs) distribution system, conducting a high-level gap analysis of the present system infrastructure versus a suite of potential Smart Grid investments, and then identifying the appropriate combination of technologies that will most effectively upgrade the capabilities of IESCOs distribution system.
Project implementation would improve the ability of IESCO to operate and maintain its systems efficiency, form the basis for planning capital investments, improve service to customers, and establish a framework for future Smart Grid deployment.
