Grant Description

USTDA is funding a feasibility study to enable Rgie Autonome de Distribution d'Eau et d'Electricit de Marrakech (RADEEMA), the state-owned power distribution company of the Marrakech-Safi region, to transform its power distribution infrastructure through a smart grid project.

The project would help RADEEMA reduce technical and non-technical losses in the Marrakech Grid, reduce the frequency and downtime of network outages, reduce the cost of operations and maintenance for RADEEMA and electricity costs to its customers, and permit the incorporation of additional solar and other renewable energy into the grid.
