Minimize the adverse effects of criminal activities on the United States and its citizens, particularly when these criminal activities involve cross-border connections or have cross-border affects.
Promote international cooperation and coordination, and provide training and other technical assistance to help build institutional capacity for combating international criminal activities such as corruption, alien smuggling, trafficking in persons, financial crimes (including money laundering), violations of intellectual property law, and cyber crime.
