Grant Description

Provide trade-led growth to poorer regions of Peru especially in the highlands and Amazon basin regions.

The Poverty Reduction and Alleviation (PRA) activity strives to fight poverty and improve the livelihoods of poor Peruvians by creating new and innovative opportunities for economic growth.

On the demand side, PRA works to identify specific Peruvian and international buyersincluding private companies and entrepreneursfor a range of different commodities and links them with local producers.

On the supply side, producers focus on learning new production techniques to refine their products and adapt them to the specifications and needs of buyers, thus opening up new market opportunities. PRAs success is measured by new sales, jobs created, investment generated, and other complementary indicators.
