This agreement supports the National Science Foundation's "U.S.
Global Change Research Program (USGCRP)" and the International System for Analysis, Research and Training (START) Secretariat.
USGCRP, a mandated Federal program, coordinates and integrates 'global change' research across 13 Federal agencies to most effectively and efficiently serve global and national interests.
Through interagency partnerships and collaborations with leading experts, USGCRP advances climate science and improves USAID's understanding the impact of global change on society, now and in the future.
START's primary focus is to support developing countries advance global change research, observation, assessment, and capacity building on a regional basis. A secondary emphasis is to encourage the integration of this research into international science and policy efforts. The Prime Partner is the National Science Foundation.
