Grant Description

The USAID Pension Reform Implementation Program works with a number of Armenian institutions to create a more efficient and integrated social services system.

By collaborating with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, as well as other agencies such as the State Social Security Service and the Pension System Awareness Center Foundation, the program aims to increase their capacity to implement pension reform.

To improve the social services offered in Armenia, the program assists these agencies in developing, improving, and managing their databases and information systems according to international standards and best practices.

In addition, it is expanding the availability of automated processes and electronic tools, such as data exchanges, social security cards, and e-applications and e-notifications.

Although building the capacity of local organizations is central, the program is also pulling from experiences of international counterparts that have implemented comparable pay-as-you-go systems.

Using these strategies, the program hopes to advocate and build awareness for a new four-pillar pension system in Armenia.
