Grant Description

The purpose of the project is to develop a new process for the design of buildings at architectural companies.

The design process can be made much more efficient with the help of a new tool, Finch, that will automatically draw the building in the terrain, draw up its dimensions, and draw up the volume of the floors and the allocation of space on each floor.

The tool is called Finch and it will be developed as part of the project, based on an existing beta version, to a finished application that can be launched on the market.

Finch will use artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency of drawing, based on parametres given by the architect and the tool will increase the productivity of architects in the early phase of projects by several hundred percent. The development has attracted more than 10,000 followers on social media that have to a large extent been attracted by the substantial productivity improvement.

Many of the followers are impatiently waiting for the opportunity to start to use Finch. In the project we will also include business development and research activities with the goal of develop the most efficient work processes possible, using Finch and also by integrating the use of Virtual Reality tools.

Researchers from Chalmers will do the research. Other partners are Eric Giudice Architects and Jayway, apart from ArchFinch, who are owners of the project.
