Implementation study regarding digital twin and tool for sustainable development analysis

Many decisions within physical planning and construction are made without enought konowledge about previous and present conditions and how plans affects the municipality.

To develop cities and rural areas in a sustainable way easily accessible facts at a local level is needed, which are visualised pedagogically.Nationally and internationally the interest of digital twins is increasing. The municipality of Karlskrona has developed a real time digital twin.

In the project Södertörnsmodellen the tool Södertörnsanalysen was developed to visualise statistics at a local level with trends over time.

With Södertörnsanalysen as inspiration Huddinge and Karlskrona municipality have developed Huddingeanalysen and Karlskronaanalysen.

The idea of this project is to carry out an implementation study regarding a future tool combining real time digital twin with analysis of statistics at a local level over time.

Such a tool would be valuable when goals and budget are established and followed up, in overview and detailed planning, housing supply and transportation planning, in urban development projects, to follow up Agenda 2030 etc.The project is carried out by Norrtälje and Karlskrona municipality, Sydväst arkitektur och landskap and and Huddinge municipality (advisor).

The target group are municipalities, regions, construction companies, property owners, consultancies, architects, civil society, inhabitants and local businesses.The effect in short time is increased understanding regarding demands and added values which digital twins combined with tools for analysis at a local level can bring.

The effect in long time, when a full scal model is developed, is that decisions in physical planning and construction are based on fact and are transparent, which form conditions for a sustainable development.
