The proposed project aims at further developing a disruptive digital business model within construction of single-family housing. The business model has been implemented by AChoice, a private company.
The project will be carried out by a competence alliance composed of private companies and researchers from Lund University (LTH) and Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
The business model intends to transform the Swedish single-family housing by applying verified hypotheses and experience from other industries.
The business model and applied digital technology are unique, also in an international context and question established truths in the construction sector.For the time being, the basic constituents of the business model are put in place, collaboration with key actors having both competence and economic strength are established.
Patent has been granted and new patents are under consideration in Europe, USA and China.
The single-family houses have been built and in parallel documented to gain continuous learnings.Funds applied for in this application are intended for further develop the business model and its underlaying key aspects such as user involvement by use of advanced configuration techniques, building system, a seamless information process and use of robots on the building site.
Objectives:An aggregated touch on the process, including user involvement, building system, design, production planning and construction.Digitized user involvement with flexible solutions taking into account 80 % of the users’ demands.Digitized product definition, with direct connection between building system and construction.Improved efficiency and reduced climate footprint.Improved work condition that promote equal opportunities and lowers the risk for accidents and work-related injuries.The ambition is to inspire a broad spectrum of actors and thereby give impulses to a fundamental transformation of the construction sector, i.e. not only the single-family housing segment.
