Purpose and goal: The Swedish consortium in the ECSEL StorAIge project StorAIge, includes Atlas Copco
Industrial Technique, Strikersoft, KTH and Uppsala University. The objectives include to, (1) use edge AI through application specific hardware realization, to enhance functionality and improve the value of two representative product families from the manufacturing and healthcare domains; (2) build competence in edge AI, security and resilience, and (3) empower non-specialists to design ASIC comparable efficient hardware, building upon the KTH developed SiLago framework.
Expected results and effects:
Technical results of the project include an enhanced SiLago design framework, AI algorithms, system designs and prototypes for evaluation and industrial validation. The project will contribute to AI competence building, in particular bridging gaps between algorithms and efficient hardware realization for industrial applications with power, performance and resilience requirements.
Longer-term effects include a strengthened market potential for the participating industrial partners, and additional benefits through the enhanced performance of their products. Approach and implementation:
StorAIge adopts a use-case driven approach to focus requirements, collaboration and work efforts. The Swedish partners contribute two use-cases and have their main efforts in the Requirements, Design platforms, and Demonstrators work-packages. Close collaboration between the Swedish partners will be organized related to these activities, benefitting from the further interactions and collaboration with expertize available in the StorAIge consortium.
The project will involve academic and industrial PhD students, industrial experts and senior academic researchers.
