Purpose and goal:
Stress has been called the “silent health epidemic of the 21st century” by the WHO and new innovative methods are needed to counteract the impact of modern society on our health. The goal of Joad is to develop a scalable virtual treatment and prevention model for homes and workplaces for self-care in connection with stress-related mental illness.
The model contains both an 8-week treatment concept as well as guided so-called single sessions in the form of individual guided mindfulness exercises. Expected results and effects:
After the project, a validated prototype in TRL level 4 has been developed YOAD to TRL 4 and focus groups and analysis work have been carried out to verify design way forward, which user components are judged to be most vital for beta version testing, determination of system architecture and requirements specifications. A clear IPR strategy has been established and a commercialization strategy has been developed. Work for the company spin-off has begun.
Approach and implementation:
Existing knowledge and best practice are explored for stress treatment, VR technology in treatment as well as biometrics and AI generated feedback, conducted via literature and internet studies together with interviews with experts. Product planning through market research, payment model and price estimation, is examined as well as a review of technical and design conditions.
Extended analysis of business strategy and payment models is carried out through verification interviews and literature studies. Review of regulatory eligibility requirements carried out.
