The Swedish journal Arkiv. Tidskrift för samhällsanalys is an open access peer reviewed scholarly journal for the social sciences and history.
The journal wants to make room for critical analyzes of modern society and its origins, with particular focus on the welfare state, social policy, working life and new as well as old social movements.
The journal publishes both original contributions in the form of scientific articles, essays, debate articles and book reviews in the subject areas, and translations of such articles from other languages with the ambition that important texts will reach a larger audience and in the long run contribute to the development of Swedish as a scientific language.
Article metadata and summaries are also available in English.
By using the open-access model for articles online, the journal, in addition to reaching out to researchers, teachers and students, also wants to reach outside the academy, to authorities, organizations and the interested general public and be part of the cultural and social debate. For the sake of visibility, completed issues are also sold as printed copies with distribution to online bookstores.
The journal Arkiv is published by the foundation Stiftelsen Arkiv för främjande och spridning av samhällsvetenskaplig och historisk forskning through the foundation’s publishing house Arkiv förlag & tidskrift, in collaboration with the Department of social studies at Linnaeus University which will administer any funds that may come from Forte.
