The aim is to develop a national research network within alcohol and drug prevention in working life, which will generate new knowledge for the implementation of preventive methods and to develop new knowledge through interdisciplinary research projects.
We will:meet regularly, about 3 -4 times a yearInitiate a meeting with American leading researchers who have developed an alcohol prevention method in working life, to investigate how this method can be developed within the framework of Swedish working lifePrepare proposals for updated Swedish guidelines for alcohol prevention in working lifeWrite joint interdisciplinary research applications The grant covers travel and accommodation costs for the members of the network and for the invited researchers, as well as overheads for seminars and newsletters.
Alcohol and drug consumption that is so extensive that it affects the employee´s work capacity increases the risk of both accidents, sick leave, loss of production and injuries to both himself and others.
Implementation of preventive measures can reduce the negative consequences for both the individual, the employer and society.
Our ambition is to to develop an interdisciplinary model of how preventive methods are understood and implemented at workplaces. We want to test our model in interdisciplinary joint research projects.
We plan to start from the following levels (see attached figure):1) Micro level: Individual factors in employees and managers.2) Meso / macro level: To analyze the conditions for universal and selective alcohol prevention3) Meta level: To create an understanding of the knowledge management for evidence-based alcohol prevention4) Vertical level: Does the interdisciplinary research process contribute to changing alcohol prevention in the workplace?
