Forum for Swedish research on working life (FALF) is a national network for researchers focusing on working life, work environment and similar topics.
With this network grant, FALF aims both to give stability to existing activities, and to develop and expand the network with new activities. The goal is to better fulfil the network’s ambition to strengthen Swedish research on working life. The focus of the expanded activities will vary yearly and relate to the theme of the yearly conference.
In 2022 this theme is on the future of work, which relates to broad societal trends such as digitalization, organizational changes, and sustainable development from an economic, social and ecological perspective.
If FALF is granted funding, we will arrange and support various network points and discussion forums, including seminars, meetings between practitioners and researchers from different disciplines for knowledge exchange. FALF also has a network of PhD students which will be supported and expanded through the grant.
This can then be expanded to master students and post docs and become a network for researchers early in their career.
Such networks are important to support a new generation of researchers focusing on working life and can support cooperation across disciplines and research environments. A specific goal with the expansion is also to support the production of joint publications. This can involve an edited book, or special issues in journals.
For this aim, we plan to arrange specific writing workshops.
This type of workshop is also planned for the PhD network with the aim to support community and exchange between disciplines and universities.
