Already 2012, patients in Region Uppsala were given the opportunity to access their electronic health record (EHR) online.
Since then the opportunity has spread throughout the country and is now a national eHealth service available in all 21 regions.
Since 2012, the number of citizens accessing their EHR online has steadily increased, not least during the COVID-19 pandemic when all eHealth services on 1177.se have been used more than ever before.
The DOME consortium consists of an interdisciplinary group of researchers from all over Sweden studying patients access to their EHR and similar eHealth services.
The consortium or network consists of 16 researchers with varying degree of experience; from PhD students to full professors.
Researchers from medicine, technology, social science and humanities participate in this truly multi-disciplinary network.
This funding would enable the DOME network to not just continue our activities, but also to grow and communicate our research both nationally and internationally.
During 2020/2021, researchers from the DOME network have initiated international collaborations with several Nordic countries and the USA. This funding would enable further international networking and exchange of experiences and knowledge.
