The 11th One Health Sweden Scientific Meeting, 29–30 of March 2022, is a conference focusing on pandemics, primarily on lessons-learned from the ongoing pandemic, and preparedness for future pandemics.
Research on transmissions of pathogens in society, joint with a well-established early warning system are central for the global world to prevent future pandemics.
The importance of transdisciplinary networking and aspects of surveillance, and food production are areas included in the programme.
Our goal is to gather clinicians, veterinarians, microbiologists and ecologists in the area of infectious diseases in humans, animals and the environment for the conference as well as representatives from authorities on a national and possibly international level. One Health Sweden is a transdisciplinary network of researchers working in the area of zoonotic infections.
The network is supported by several universities and governmental organizations, and constitutes a sustainable intellectual platform where physicians, veterinarians, molecular biologists, infection biologists, ecologists and environmental biochemists can interact and create synergies.
The annual scientific conference attracts both junior and senior researchers and provides an important opportunity for new contacts and inspiration for future collaborations.
We strongly believe that the interaction between senior experts in the field of human, animal and environmental health and infectious diseases and early career attendees is of great importance in promoting knowledge exchange and to foster future One Health researchers. The 2022 conference will be held in Uppsala as a lunch to lunch hybrid meeting with 60-70 attendees on site.
The meeting includes four sessions on lessons learned from the covid-19 pandemic from the different aspects of One Health, as well as open sessions where participating researchers can present on-going research for discussion and interaction with other participants.
