EUREKA CELTIC Next IMMINENCE

Purpose and goal:

The consortium has developed new AI technologies for network operation, network and application integration, and perceived quality for time-critical services. AI technologies to predict 5G performance and optimize energy consumption has shown great potential. The impact on control loops in time-critical services from cloud technology has been studied.

The consortium has also developed methodologies to study user quality in remote control of heavy machines, and new AI models for fault detection in drill cores. Progress has also been made in technology for connected vehicles. Expected results and effects:

The consortium has contributed to strengthening Sweden as a leading nation in 5G through the development of AI technology for network operation, to use 5G for optimized service performance, and to create growth in Sweden in terms of improved products and services. Methodologies and new technologies developed within the consortium have been taken forward within the industrial partners.

In addition to this, the consortium has contributed to Sweden as a nation of knowledge through a large number of scientific publications, research degrees and theses at undergraduate level. Approach and implementation:

The Swedish consortium that received Vinnova funding has been part of the European project Celtic-NEXT IMMINENCE. The work has been divided into three overarching areas (1) AI for network operation and management, (2) integration between network and application for optimized performance for time-critical services, and (3) QoE for time-critical services.

A close collaboration between Swedish partners, but also other actors in Europe, has contributed to developing technology and methodology for the benefit of Swedish industry.
