Swedish node for accelerating innovation and research in cybersecurity - Phase II

Purpose and goal:

In Phase 2, the national cybersecurity node will continue the development of the coordination platform for increased research and innovation. This is done in several ways: involvement of more national actors, further dissemination of information about new calls, creation of more working groups/consortia, continued work with the competence database, establishment of a Nordic cybersecurity network, collaboration with the new NSC (National Coordination Center) and monthly technology seminars.

Expected results and effects:

The node has created a coordination and collaboration platform to accelerate research and innovation. The platform will make it easier for Swedish industry to take advantage of opportunities to increase its competence and collaboration. The node will help to identify opportunities for both national and international cooperation. This collaboration will contribute to a more favorable innovation climate, and in the long run Swedish competitiveness and exports in cybersecurity will thus increase.

Approach and implementation:

RISE is the project coordinator for the innovation node, which is led by a steering group and a reference group. These consist of representatives of actors from industry, academia, research organizations and the public sector. The number of members is currently 84 and the plan is to become 400 members by 2024. Created consortia are then planned to have applied for around 15 EU calls. The node started operations in January 2020 and plans to work until 2027 (in line with Horizon Europe).
