WiCiD-Water In City Design, solutions for wicked planning problems

The aim was to better meet complexity, objective- & conflicts of interest that exist in connection with climate adaptation of the city by providing efficient decision-making processes and a digital service for the actors involved to gather around. Two new services in form one of VIS, a process-methodical tool built into a web interface and a digital platform with the function of being a sharp analysis tool based on the city´s current investigations, models and data have been developed and pilot tested in the city of Gothenburg. A methodology for the bridging between soft & hard values is implemented.

In this way, for example, social sustainability, ecosystem services and blue-green infrastructure can be considered early in planning processes and applied in climate adaptation. Approach and implementation: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **

By uniting market-leading actors in VA, digital decision support, architecture, and computer-driven design together with municipal needs owners and researchers in the field, the project had a relevant constellation of actors from the beginning. Project organization had five independent work packages with associated sub-elements.

Partner constellation and implementation plan have worked well and contributed to meeting the objectives. During the course of the project, successful cooperation was developed with the sister project PEHKA.
