The project aims to develop functionality for automatic freight planning of trailer transports and route optimization for electric trucks. The goal is to reduce the threshold for carriers to buy electric trucks and to reduce the cost of transport planning for freight forwarders. Both main goals have been achieved to a satisfactory level, but it is clear that the potential is even greater and that widespread use of the functionality will further increase the savings.

The result makes it clear that the increased filling rate greatly reduces both CO2 emissions per transported goods and the costs of carrying out the transports, for both the carrier and the freight forwarder. Furthermore, the time saving is very large for the carrier, who state that they now have the opportunity to focus more long-term on their activities instead of daily firefighting.

The project has been carried out according to the existing project plan and the work packages have worked well in sequence. Certain adjustments within the work packages have been necessary, i.a. certain shift in capital allocation, which was approved by Vinnova upon request.
