Purpose and goal:
The purpose of the project is to make public transport more effective by coordinating socially paid travel with other modes of transport.
Objective: Demand response traffic (DRT) in the pilot municipalities includes all available modes of transport for best service to rural residents and reduced environmental impact. Expected results and effects:
With collaboration in the transport system, more people have access to the transports and these are made more efficient. The result will be, among other things, better utilization of the roads, better accessibility in rural areas, and a better environment with reduced climate impact. PM will have the potential to increase efficiency and deliver better services for public transport.
Cooperation between different professions and road users will be improved, traffic movements in rural areas will be optimized for everyone, instead of being sub-optimized for individuals. Approach and implementation:
Mobile Rural Areas intends to identify the conditions for carrying out pilots with PM in two municipalities and test the method in digital twins for another municipality. In an innovation process for circular business models, we will analyze possible new pricing and other incentives for basic services in local transport sectors. The project will adapt the PM to Länstrafiken i Norrbottens (LiN) and their collaboration partners´ various systems and provide support for coordination and route optimization of public transport based on AI.
