Linnaeus University, Sweden in collaboration with Kathmandu Medical College, Nepal and University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh had been in research partnership on the primary prevention of violence against women through intervention-based research reaching to the most vulnerable women groups since 2015.
The learning from these two countries will help strengthening future partnership on pertinent gender issues to establish a common effort for meeting SDG5 through exchange of ideas, skills and expertise.The Swedish university will facilitate, coordinate, and also increase understanding of cross-cutting gender issues.
The project aims to build upon existing partnership for future collaboration among Swedish, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi higher educational institutions.
The network will prioritize SGD5 gender targets, develop plans for bridging gender data gap through evidence-based research and identify interventions for attaining holistic and sustainable gender changes.
The network will be developed as a trans disciplinary platform with researcher from global health, gender, social work, anthropology and community medicine.
Two multi-stakeholder workshops will be conducted in Nepal and Bangladesh together with different levels of meetings between researchers and faculties of the three participating educational institutions.
This partnership will facilitate regional and international collaboration between researchers, faculties, and different other involved stakeholders.
