This project is based on more than ten years of research at Chalmers University of Technolog. The research deals with how people perception of products and quality.
The research has focused on developing models and frameworks aided by machine learning and Big Data to measure people´s perception of quality (and the lack there of).
The aim has been to gain a better understanding and in the long run to create better models for efficient resource utilization in design and production. At the beginning of 2020, Intended Future AB received funding from the Innovation Office West to investigate the possibilities of spreading this way of thinking and make a business model for evaluating buildings and construction work with regard to perceived quality.
This application is a direct continuation of that work. The purpose of the project is to develop a set of requirements and a functional prototype to evaluate the usefulness and effect of a tool for simulating and understanding the customer´s perspective of perceived quality. This evaluation will be done in real projects by leading architects and project managers.
As a pilot project, we will evaluate how buildings are percieved by focusing on exterior lighting. Exterior lighting is something that is similar to exterior lighting in the automotive industry.
It is also a relatively inexpensive way to change and improve the visual quality of a building, which could also be used on pre-existing buildings. The project idea primarily focus on knowledge development and renewal by developing a new digital service for analyzing buildings based on customers´ percieved qualityof them. The project will be managed as a research project with four work packages.
Each sprint is led by operational project manager Julia Orlovska.
Dag Bergsjö synchronizes each work package as a formal project manager and is responsible for the project being reported to the stakeholders and for the final report and sent to Formas.
