SBII - Prestudy AI Brazil

Purpose and goal:

The aim of the project was to create a mapping of the Brazilian landscape in applied AI, where many new institutes have gotten funding in recent times. Based on the mapping, the goal was to develop a roadmap for cooperation between Sweden and Brazil within applied AI; creating a basis for joint research projects as well as for commercially oriented contacts and collaborations between SMEs / Startups and large companies in both countries.

Expected results and effects:

The mapping of the Brazilian landscape within applied AI provides good insights for Swedish actors seeking contact with potential Brazilian partners. Through a workshop on Applied AI that was arranged under Sveriges Innovation Weeks, contacts with some institutes have already been taken and planning is underway for online seminars / workshops within applied AI for Smart Cities.

A written report compiles the project results. Approach and implementation:

Project work was carried out in four work packages, in a well-functioning collaboration between RISE and CISB, Swedish-Brazilian Research and Innovation Centre. CISB contributed in-depth knowledge of the Brazilian research and funding systems, while RISE contributed experience and knowledge in applied AI as well as insights into the Swedish AI landscape. A matchmaking event was organised by CISB in collaboration with Ignite Sweden.
