Purpose and goal:
Our goal is to develop Helsingborg as a city where people with dementia are met by an inclusive society that promotes well-being and where you feel safe.
The purpose is to try new ways of working to better understand the target group’s needs as well as test and develop dementia-friendly solutions meeting these needs.
Supported by researchers, we will investigate aspects to consider in the creation of dementia friendly outdoor environments, examine different methods used to engage and involve the target group in the creation as well as analysing the benefits. Expected results and effects:
The project combines two innovation initiatives, which will increase the project´s potential to contribute in practice and with new knowledge.
Stakeholders, residents and employees will be able to draw on the findings and working methods in the project on an ongoing basis.
The experiences, results and findings will provide good examples of how we can collaborate for a more dementia-friendly society on both a nationally and an internationally level.
The project will increase awareness of what an inclusive society actually means for people with dementia and their relatives. Approach and implementation:
The project consists of three parts; applying the care innovator approach in the context of dementia-friendly outdoor environments, knowledge sharing through learning forums and research. Care innovators will divide their time between health services and innovation work.
By creating a forum for shared learning we invite stakeholders to draw on lessons learned and experiences gained, continuously during the process.
The researchers will play an equal part process and will examine how our results can be interpreted to further support the ongoing development.
