Homeless but not fearless - innovation for emancipation through digitalization

Purpose and goal:

The aim of the project was to develop methods and concepts for digital support for the homeless that can be combined with human support. This would be done partly through the use of smartphones and the like, but also through tools for screening and visualisation. We have achieved these goals and will now disseminate our results within the City Mission throughout Sweden.

Expected results and effects:

The result is a concept and methods for visualizing the situation for homeless people, which has been developed into a digital tool during the project in collaboration with volunteers. It also works in a non-digital version. The digital tool will continue to evolve.

This gives the homeless person and also the City Mission a better overview of the situation. We are therefore in a better position to provide good support and to influence actors who provide support to homeless people or who have contacts with homeless people. Approach and implementation:

Step by step, we have developed methods and tools that visualize the situation of the homeless. From initial sketches of prototypes to a working concept. In collaboration, we can then discuss what the situation looks like, what difficulties are to be overcome and what human and digital support may be needed. During the project, we have created a way for our technology partner CAB to develop our digital solution as volunteers.
