Civic engagement as a platform for reducing climate impact

An anchored and packaged concept has been developed. The vision is that the concept is used globally as a way to deal with the climate issue in a citizen-driven way. The intention of the Energy Meetings was to achieve reduced energy consumption.

The vision for the digital platform is that it should constitute a model where the cities can establish these digital tools for increased citizen engagement at an early stage.

Broader support and consensus from more actors has been achieved through contacts made. The vision is an efficient network that also creates a strong sense of neighborhood. Approach and implementation:

The documentation of the method used in Hammarby Sjöstad has taken place through interviews of people who ran the process and actively participated in the energy meetings. The method has been documented in a handbook, in analog and digital form.

In collaboration with the local organization HIND, BRF representatives have been invited to Energy meetings where colleagues and companies in the energy field talked about possible energy measures. BRFs have through energy mapping (Eco Drives) reported about the measures taken to reduce energy use.
