The Language Bridge

Purpose and goal:

The project´s purpose of bridging Språkkraft´s language and learning support into the user´s personal sphere, the sphere of formal education and municipal operations, the sphere of civil society, the sphere of working life and the sphere of correctional services has been fulfilled. The dynamic language and learning support in real time during (video) calls and physical meetings has been a success. Five platform owners have integrated the software component (SDK) developed within the project.

Expected results and effects:

The project’s main achievement are newly developed functions, which have been validated in user tests as having great potential for language development. The function Språkkraft LIVE has already started to be used as a central part of the language development activities. Through collaborations with the country´s municipalities, this function can give a new dimension to formal education´s opportunities to provide effective, dynamic language support in today´s multilingual classrooms.

Approach and implementation:

The setup with a large number of parties implementing a project with so many dimensions has been very instructive and enriching for the outcome, but at the same time a big challenge, especially as the project has depended on the parties to reach participants for user tests. To coordinate the work with so many parties, where several key people changed during the period, the period has placed high demands on the project management to drive project parties.
