Goodlash - Society incubator for a circular transition

Purpose and goal:

The Goodlash project address Agenda 2030 (cities mission), Green Deal and New European Bauhaus. The outcome of the Goodlash project is a societal prototype a new function with potential to enhance collaborative governance and citizen-driven innovation locally and regionally in the transition towards a sustainable society. Innovative methods with a participatory approach - mission-oriented practices, future literacy - have been developed and tested for the first time. A Regional Forum for Social Innovation Sweden has been established through the project.

Expected results and effects:

By focusing on sustainability alongside other criteria such as inclusion, accessibility, affordability and quality of experience project results can make societal impact throughout the eco-system of democratic life, cultural life, science and technology in society. The Goodlash Model can be further developed in line with the NEB Mission. An application to NEB Prizes Champions 2024 has been submitted at EU-level.

Innovation processes have been directed towards young people aged 30 or less and organisations in civil society working with children and young adults. Approach and implementation:

Our methodology starts from “Designing Missions” a practice guide by Vinnova. As one example 150 students from 3 different degree programmes at the Swedish School of Textile participated in mission society co-labs. 30 enablers from different backgrounds were invited to guide the ideas of the students. The mission focused on ‘the future function and life of a sustainable fashion store’.

Project interventions were implemented in line with the NEB Compass and have generated light prototypes for sustainable and new ways of living (products, services, processes).
